Twilight photography for homes on the Portuguese coast
Twilight photography captures a house in the short window after sunset, when the sky still holds colour and the interior lights carry the same weight as the daylight outside. The twilight exterior is included in every commission at The Ivory Studio, from Signature Photo at €650.
On this coast it is often the image that leads the listing.
Why it sells coastal homes
A buyer looking at a villa in Cascais or Guincho is imagining the evenings: the terrace after a day at the beach, the pool lit against a darkening sea. A daylight frame shows the house; a twilight frame shows the life.
Glass becomes transparent, rooms read from outside, and the architecture is drawn by its own light.
Timing
The usable window is short, roughly twenty to forty minutes after sunset depending on season and cloud. We arrive well before, set the frame in the last daylight and photograph through the change.
On the south-facing Cascais coast the sky over the bay holds soft colour; on the western Guincho coast the sun sets over the Atlantic itself. Sunset here runs from around 17:20 in December to after 21:00 in late June, so a winter shoot is an early evening and a summer one a late night.
Preparing the house
Every light in the house should work and be on, at a similar warmth. The pool light, garden lights and any lanterns on the terrace matter more at twilight than at any other time. Blinds open, curtains drawn back, and nothing on the terrace that would not be there for dinner.

One twilight exterior is included in every commission. Further twilight sessions, for a second façade or a separate evening, are quoted in your proposal.
