Aerial photography
Aerial photography and drone film for coastal residences
Aerial images show what no ground-level photograph can: where a house sits between the pines and the Atlantic, how far it is from the beach, how the plot is laid out. The Ivory Studio photographs and films residences from the air as part of Estate commissions, or as an addition quoted in your proposal.
Every flight is planned for the specific site and is subject to Portuguese airspace rules and the permissions they require.
What aerial adds
On this coast, location is much of the value. A single high frame can explain the relationship between a villa, the sea and the town better than a paragraph of description.
We use aerial sparingly: a small number of composed stills, and a few slow moving shots that open or close the film. The aim is context, not spectacle.
Planning, airspace and permissions
Drone flights in Portugal follow European drone regulation and national rules, and some locations need specific permission. Parts of the Riviera sit close to controlled airspace around Lisbon, inside protected landscapes such as Sintra-Cascais, or near sensitive sites.
We check each address before booking, apply for permission where it is needed and tell you plainly if a site cannot be flown. Wind and weather decide on the day; a flight that is not safe does not happen, and is rescheduled.
Light and timing
Aerial frames work best when the sun is low: early morning for east-facing plots, and the last hour before sunset along Guincho and the western coast. Where a twilight set is planned, we usually fly just before it.
Pricing and delivery
Aerial stills and film are included in Estate, from €2,800 and tailored to the property. For Signature commissions they are added and quoted in your proposal. Images are delivered in five working days and film in seven, under the same marketing licence.
