Estoril & Quinta da Marinha

Property photography in Estoril and Quinta da Marinha

The Ivory Studio photographs and films residences in Estoril, Monte Estoril and Quinta da Marinha, two of the most established addresses on the Lisbon coast. Commissions start from €650, with the twilight exterior included.

The two places are close on the map but different in character: Estoril is a garden town above the sea, Quinta da Marinha a low, wooded estate on the way to Guincho.

Estoril: garden villas above the bay

Estoril grew in the early twentieth century as a resort, around its casino, park and seafront. Monte Estoril and the streets behind the station keep many villas from that period, with ornamental gardens, pitched roofs and generous rooms, alongside later apartment buildings with sea views.

These houses often have mature trees close to the façade. We plan exteriors around the shade they cast, and interiors for the hours when light enters from the garden side.

Quinta da Marinha: pines, dunes and low houses

Quinta da Marinha lies west of Cascais, between the pine woods, the golf courses and the dunes behind Guincho. Plots are large and houses tend to be low and horizontal: single or two-storey villas, wide terraces, long pools and gardens that merge into the woods.

The Atlantic is close, the light is open and the wind is a constant. For aerial work, the relationship between the house, the pines and the coast is usually the frame that matters most.

Typical properties

Restored early-twentieth-century villas, contemporary houses in gated condominiums, golf-front homes and apartments with views over the Estoril bay.

Practical notes

Gated developments require access arrangements for the crew and vehicles; we ask the agent or owner to notify security before the day. Parts of Quinta da Marinha sit within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, so drone flights are checked site by site.

In summer the wind on this stretch is strongest in the afternoon, which shapes when we photograph pools and gardens.
